| Bio: | Name: Medusa What world they came from: Soul Eater, and anime/manga series Birthday (if known): I can't find one, so I'll go with February 27th Age: No specific age is given, but I think she'd be around early to mid thirties. Species: Human, but also a witch. Occupation: Part of the witch society, experimenting with turning people into demon weapons through black blood, researching into reviving the first Kishin (Demon god) of her world and creating new ones from humans, while posing as school nurse. Appearance: Medusa is average in height and build for a woman her age, and while pretending to be a normal human, often dresses in a lab coat, with black blouse, skirt and shoes while working in the nurse's office. To most, they are fooled in thinking she is very pleasant and concerned for the students. However in her true guise as a witch, her peaceful face can often twist into a very frightening expression, her amber coloured eyes becoming thin and slitted, much like a snake's, her smile turning into a sadistic grin that reaches almost from ear to ear. Her blonde hair is cut short, but she has two longer bangs at the front which reach past her chest, which she twists together into one that hangs across the front of her body. For clothing, she wears black trousers with a pointed arrow hanging at the back, much like a tail, a black hooded sleeveless shirt (with a white eye design on either side if the hood) bangles on each wrist, and no shoes. This choice of outfit shows the snake tattoo's on her arms, as well as the black nails with white arrows decorating them, both on her fingers and toes. Special abilities/talents: As a witch, Medusa is very skilled with her special brand of magic. Her skills and attacks in combat are represented in the form of a snake (her magic words chanted before using most of her spells being 'Nake, Snake, Cobra, Cobubra'), as well as in arrows. She also commands the thousands of snakes that inhabit her body, including the tattooed ones on each arm, which come to life and grow to massive size during some of her attacks. Vector Arrow: Sends arrow headed snakes to pierce the enemy in the direction Medusa tells them, as well as through hand movement. Vector Bullet: An arrow appears on the ground that will send anything on it in the direction that Medusa desires; propelling herself towards the enemy to engage in close combat, propelling an attacker away from her, and quite possibly moving inanimate objects like chairs, tables, etc., turning them into deadly projectiles. Also known as Vector Plate in the anime and some translations. Serpent Whip: Medusa extends one of her snakes (tattoo) to strike from afar. Known as Light Serpent in the anime. Steam Vector: This attack surrounds Medusa with her Vector Arrows making a spinning tornado like shield. Called Vector Storm in the anime. Snake Bomb: Places a snake from her body into someone else, the snakes coming out through her hands, her mouth, even her tattoo's can be implanted; these snakes will only detonate inside the persons body when she gives the signal. (This ability is damaged on her arrival in CU, so she can't detonate the snakes. She'll still implant and threaten to though, as well as use them to observe things through the person's eyes.) Vector Boost: A magic that doubles the power drawn in the direction of the arrow. Additionally to this combat magic, she has also been seen using other spells. She often uses a hypnotic charm inside her timid daughter Chrona's mind to make her more aggressive during battle. She is also seen flying a broom on her first appearance in the series. Like other witches in Soul Eater, she can use the technique Soul Protect, a spell that casts a magical forcefield around a witch soul, neutralising the soul wavelength so their witch aura can't be detected, and are able to masquerade as normal humans. The downside is that a witch cannot use magic unless they drop their Soul Protect, but Medusa's Snake Bomb attack allows her to detonate the snakes inside someone's body without her having to reveal herself as a witch. Her other skills span to good acting and manipulating, since she easily fools most people in Shibusen, the school she works in, and works well in getting information while playing the kind hearted nurse. As well as being a witch, she is a scientist, and knows a few things about medicine and medical process, hence being able to be a very convincing school nurse. Quirks: Medusa is mostly solitary, will not bother people unless it is to manipulate them for her own gain, but her behaviour will depend on if she is trying to hide her identity as a witch or not. Mostly, she will behave whichever way is to her advantage, and not try and make any enemies, gain trust in order to learn more and advance her research. However, if someone starts getting in her way or presses into her business, she will not sit back and allow it to happen. She will most likely plant snake bombs in their bodies so she can keep an eye on their movements and gain control over matters. Such people should be weary she won't hesitate to blow them sky high if they get on her bad side, especially if they see her expression become sinister and slitted, much like a viper ready to strike. Personality: Medusa is a very hard character to pin down, particularly since she is so good at acting, lying and manipulating. She is dedicated to her work, and very determined to see it through. This also makes her very ruthless and menacing towards people who get in her way. While she prefers to be subtle and not draw too much attention to herself, if push comes to shove, she will act violently. She has no fear of anyone, and is stubborn in not allowing anything to get the better of her, a perfectionist in almost every part of her work and research. Despite showing a calm and collected demeanour, Medusa will bite when pushed too far, and can be very bloodthirsty when she feels the need to take control over matters.Mostly, she keeps to herself, and will stay out of other peoples affairs, mainly due to lack of interest, or not wishing to get mixed up in other peoples messes. However, if a subject should catch her interest, and she can see herself benefiting from them, Medusa will be very coy in working her way in, being very cunning, even playful in order to get what she wants. Overall, Medusa is a formidable person, both intelligent and deadly, someone who you do not want to make angry, lest you fear the serpents wrath. Sexual orientation: While she never shows a great amount of interest in relationships during the series (which makes you wonder where Chrona came from...), mainly due to being more interested in her research, she does say she is love with Professor Stein before she dies. She admires him as a fellow scientist, and is drawn to his perceptive ability, since he is only one in Shibusen who sees through her act early on, and suspects she is up to something more sinister, as well as the possible madness that dwelled inside him, hence why she tried to get him to join her side. She would be drawn to someone with great intellect and similar ideals, as well as someone somewhat unstable, though I believe she would lean a bit more towards males than females. Reputation: As a witch, Medusa is seen by Meisters, Weapons and humans as generally an evil soul who needs to be destroyed. Personally, she is known as a very feared witch amongst her kind, one of the strongest and most powerful when it comes to magic. While at Shibusen she is seen as a very caring and dedicated school nurse, however, Stein sees through her act, and perceives her to be hiding a lot more beneath her smiling facade. Background Information: In the world Medusa comes from, the world is protected by the God of Death, also known as Grim Reaper of Shinigami. He lives in Death City, trapped in his own dimension in a mirror there due to his seal stopping Asura, the first Demon god or Kishin from reviving and reeking havoc on the world again. In order to ensure that the world does not fall into chaos if this does occur, and to keep peace in the worst case scenario, he opens a school, Shibusen, for young Meisters or Technicians to train with special Weapons, which can also take a human form, so they can learn to be like the Shinigami and harvest evil souls before they become Demon gods. Mostly, each Meister works to harvest 99 evil human souls and 1 witch soul, so the weapon can become a Death Scythe, the highest level of weapon, which can be used by Shinigami himself. Due to them being evil and their souls harvested by Meisters, witches like Medusa often hide themselves or use Soul Protect so they aren't hunted down. Medusa however, is very ambitious, and with permission from Mabaa, the lead witch, she infiltrates Shibusen, posing as a school nurse, to study the students to see which ones can become Kishin (Demon gods, if they are tempted to stray from the path of a human, give into their fears, and start hunting good human souls, not just bad ones). Medusa is willing to use anyone and everyone to further her plans by any means necessary. She even uses her own daughter Chrona in her experiments, trying to turn her into a Kishin by forcing her through spells to fight and take any soul, good or bad, even training her to kill animals from a young age so she would gain a lust for blood. In experimenting, she replaces Chrona's blood with deadly Black Blood, which helps heal her quickly and protects her from physical harm, though it means her body is very unstable. Chrona's weapon Ragnarok was also melted down and merged with Black Blood, so he became a part of her body, so the Meister and Weapon are integrated. Medusa often watches from a distance as her daughter evolves into a deadly killer, but one night, a Shibusen Meister Maka, and her Weapon Soul find Chrona and fight her. They lose, with Soul almost being slashed in two by Ragnarok protecting Maka, and infected with the Black Blood due to his wound. However, the pair are saved by their teacher Professor Stein and Death Scythe Spirit, Maka's father, who defeat Chrona. Unfortunately, Medusa is able to grab Chrona and escape before they get caught. However, not all witches agree with Medusa's ambitions, two even standing up to her and attempting to kill her for fear she will endanger the rest of the witches with her actions. However, Medusa is not intimated by them as she has already planted snake bombs in their bodies. She blows one of them up, and then forces the other to co-operate with her. She makes the other Witch, Eruka Frog, sneak into the witch prison and let loose a dangerous Prisoner, the Meister and werewolf known as Devil's Eye, since he stole the eye of the head witch Mabaa. However on escaping, he decides to call himself Free, to symbolise his new freedom. He offers to help Medusa for setting him free, so she sets him up to fight Maka and Soul, so she can see how the Black Blood has taken affect inside Soul's body. Though Free loses the fight, Medusa is pleased to see how the Black Blood made Maka and Soul so formidable, and realizes she can use the Black Blood in order to evolve the Kishin. She even discovers through a strong bond between Meister and Weapon, the Black Blood can pass from one body to another, hence Maka telling Medusa after her check up she coughed up Black Blood after fighting Free. She gives Maka medicine to accelerate the effects of the Black Blood, but is worried that it came out of her system when she coughed it up. Worried she missed something in her research, she goes to Check Maka's medical records, only for Stein to interrupt, holding Maka's file. He clearly suspects Medusa, even questioning her about the medicine she gave Maka, since he took it from the girl.He doesn't openly accuse her, instead leaving and getting another teacher called Sid to investigate her laboratory. However, Medusa is one step ahead, and makes sure that the building blows up with Sid in it. Believing she is in the clear, she decides it's time to act. Waiting until the night of the anniversary of the foundation of Shibusen, she attends the commemorative party, planning to give Eruka and Free a signal for when it's safe to move. However, Stein confronts her about Sid going missing after checking her laboratory. She admits to being a witch, explaining that she sees the Kishin as the next step in evolution, and that he, as a fellow scientist should understand, trying to get him to join her. Sid interrupts though, having made a lucky escape from the lab, before she can implant a snake in Stein through kissing him, explaining that Medusa had waited for the anniversary party, since Shinigami would come out of the mirror for the night, and would be vulnerable. Quickly escaping, Medusa, along with Free and Eruka, trap the Shinigami, Meisters and Weapons in the tower of Shibusen with a spell called Independent Cube, before heading underground to revive the Kishin. Some Meisters and Weapons(including Maka and Soul) do track them down to the low levels beneath the school, but Medusa makes sure to wait in order to prevent them from getting through. The three student Meisters and their weapons get past her quickly, while Stein stays behind to hold Medusa off. She engaged in an intense battle with Dr. Stein, using her powerful magic techniques to hold out against him. While she initially had the upper hand, her momentary pleasure at Asura's successful resurrection, due to feeling his soul wavelength, knowing Free and Eruka had successfully revived him using the Black Blood, allowed Stein to slice her in half. Making one final attack and claiming to love him, he skewered her through the skull and her body evaporated. However, a snake decorated with Medusa's arrow markings was seen escaping the city through a drainpipe on the outskirts, most likely her transformed. {There is more in the series after her escape, but I would want to say that is was at this point where she was transported into Chaos Unraveled) Heaven or Hell?: Evil Mad Scientist/Witch who blows people up and experiments on her own daughter, yeah...I'm going with Hell.
